Financial literacy is a critical life skill that is too often imparted to students “too little, too late.” ARC has recognized the need for these resources and currently sponsors nine local schools and organizations to help meet this need. Please contact us if you are a teacher at any of the following schools/organizations looking for financial literacy resources for your classroom:
- Altoona Area High School
- Bellwood-Antis High School
- Bellwood-Antis Middle School
- Tyrone Area High School
- Bishop Guilfoyle High School
- Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center
- Cambria Heights Middle School
- Center for Independent Living
If you don’t see your school listed, click here, then click the "Teacher Sign Up" button to see if we can help bring these resources to your students as well.
Banzai also offers a national $2,000 financial literacy scholarship to 5 high school students who demonstrate a commitment to financial literacy and education at a sponsored school (see list above). To apply, students just need be between 16-18 years old, play through at least two Banzai games, and write a 350-500 word essay on why financial literacy is important. Banzai even has a game specifically about applying for scholarships!
Available Resources
Our sponsored Banzai curriculum are provided in online and offline formats to accommodate many learning environments. Over 100,000 educators use this experience-based platform to help students gain life skills without facing the stress of real-world consequences. Curriculums are designed for students in grades 3 - 12. This PDF will explain the variety of course topics available and the targeted ages/grades for each.
We also offer in-person presentations by ARC staff. Discussions can be customized to supplement and reinforce the materials you are highlighting with your students in class. Please contact Liesl Kapfhammer at lkapfhammer@arcfcu.org with questions on in-person presentations or to schedule something for your students/organization.
